I'm 99.9% sure that the Japanese bB will stay in Japan... There was an article somewhere that mentioned that the next xB would be a US only model...
Hopefully it'll look similar to the t2b, since it was a really nice concept...

Really? I remember reading the exact opposite, That the two cars will remain the same? How long ago was the bB replaced in Japan (or did it only get an refresh)?

Why are they making it bigger? The beauty in the xB is it's small on the outside, big on the inside. This defeats the purpose of what's supposed to be a city car. Kinda like the RAV4: the perfect little kick-around truck turned into HIGHLANDER COMPETITOR WITH 3RD ROW SEATS!

I know what you mean. It will probably be slightly longer but lower than before.
If you've seen the RAV-4 in person its not big at all same size as CRV and Escape now and its smaller than Highlander, the old RAV-4 was just THAT small in comparison.

02-14-2006, 09:20 PM
I hope it looks like the t2b concept... i liked that... also they should keep it with similar dimensions to the concept but just add 2 more doors to the side (might require more length though)

Since they showed the Diahatsu version of the bB in Geneva, I think they will show the Scion version at the New York Auto Show (one year after the t2B).

I think that Toyota should make it look like the t2B concept, but with four doors, the rears being suicides. That would be neat.

The next generation Scion xB will be shown to the public late 2007, or possibly early 2008. Yesterday a ScionLife member in southern Los Angeles spotted a modified Scion xB mule driving on the freeway. It definitely has a longer wheelbase and much larger wheel wells, as well as longer rear doors.
http://www.scionlife.com/forum...23403
http://www.scionlife.com/misc/xb2008_1.jpg

Porschefan

I think it should be called x2B, the 2 signifying the 2nd generation of the car, and tying it into the t2B concept car that I loved so very much. If this looks anything like the concept, this will be my first car. In theory, this thing should be a bit more efficient than the current box, with what appears to be a more rounded-off body, better for aerodynamics, plus w/e engine updates they decide to do.

The only thing I didnt like about the xB was the frickin huge bumper. I only saw it twice. Once when I went to NY and Cali and also I saw one being sold for $26000CDN here in Toronto. That's roughly $21000USD.

The xA and xB clones that you see as Great Wall Motors vehicles are actually Toyota-built and powered. GWM offers a truck and SUV that is obviously built on the Truck/4Runner platform.
This is most likely a ploy for Toyota to increase their 3.5% market share in China by disguising their vehicles as home-grown. Then, sometime in the future when the Chinese have accepted the vehicles, they will probably consolidate their platforms into one Toyota brand.
Here are links to the GWM copies that WILL work for everyone:
Scion xA Front: http://www.scionlife.com/misc/...t.jpg
Scion xA Rear: http://www.scionlife.com/misc/...r.jpg
Scion xB Front: http://www.scionlife.com/misc/...t.jpg
Scion xB Rear: http://www.scionlife.com/misc/...e.jpg
