It's still the ugliest car ever.

What's Mercedes' role in Ssangyong again?
None. They're probably using old licensed engines from Merc, as they always did.

So what's the difference between this and below:
http://www.carspyshots.net/zerothread?id=16771

I dare say, I kind of like it. It has a certain third-world charm, a la the Lada Niva.

If they fixed the ugly front end, it wouldn't be half bad. It would be a neat little CUV.
I'll say this much, the interior ain't that bad at all. I actually like most of it. Very clean and organized... for what it is.

Seems like SsangYong is determined to sell their vehicles on their performance not their looks... I thought that after the Rodius they couldn't do it worst.
And for the interior, I almost cut myself with the borders of the dashboard only for looking the photographs!!

I think it looks cool because it's daring, it's different, and of course that creates strong love it/hate it opinions. May I also say that the last couple years of the Pontiac Aztek were pretty decent-looking, and the Actyon reminds me of it to a degree. Thumbs up from me.

it has such a high ground clearence!!:(
I love the Ssangyong Actyon it looks awesome.
I honestly think that from the rear 3/4 it looks pretty cool, I like the shape. But the front end is horrible.

Ssangyong will not be long for this world. Hyundai and Daewoo are both roaring and the Chinese are rocketing forward. With styling like this and no US sales (except for what loopy Ed Bagley Jr. imports to make electric cars out of) I don't see Ssangyong prospering.

Actually, Ssang Yong IS already owned by soem chinese company (was it SAIC?)

Yes, it's SAIC. I detest the Rodius and the Actyon, but the Kyron and the Actyon Sports are decent and the Rexton is gorgeous. So I wouldnt start the bashing yet. If they're playing the game right (like not commiting piracy), they're fine.

I keep getting an 07 CRV feel from this.
Wow! That sounds bad for the CRV. :D

No matter how much kit is stuffed in it.
In my country it's still close to 30k, but after the facelift the quality seems to have decreased somehow. I drove an older prefacelift Rexton and it felt better screwed together. I wouldn't pay that much for a Sssang Yong anyway. I'd prefer a Toyota or a Land Rover for that amount of money.

I don't think it would have made it on my wish list before the facelift either. Ssangs have never been particularly good or desirable. I sometimes question the existence of this brand, if it would dissapear no one would miss it.

The sad thing is, SsangYong will sell close to 2,500 vehicle's in Australia this year. Small number's I know, but that's 2,500 people where you have to ask, what were they thinking??
