It's interesting to compare these results with the U.S. version. I don't think any one could still deny that JD Power has more to do with a market's existing customer preconceptions and prejudices than any statistically quantifiable differences in quality and reliability.

It lines up nicely with the monthly sales results as well, along with the general vibe of the marketplace, at least as far as imports are concered. Australians seem to 'get' Mazda as a brand a lot more than their compatriates in North America and Europe.

Interesting to see no European brands in the entire top 10.

Funny. I would take my so far ultra-reliable Citroen C4 any day over equivalent Mazda.

p.s. JD Powers satisfaction study is only 22% about reliability... but then again, they also have dependability study as well.

Just over a million cars were sold last year in Australia. JD got 3078 responses. Yup, that's it. That's why there isn't luxury car brands like BMW or Audi. With the little amount of responses I can not see how this can be a true representation of anything car related, so therefore I'd take it with a grain of salt. When they start getting numbers like 50,000 + then we start to get more relaistic results.

I don't care what they say. Doesn't concern me. Almost every satifacction study puts down Citroen but I am happy and that is what matters.
