Um, a truck with a Malibu front end. Good luck selling this chick-truck in America.

I'm pretty sure it will, either as Chevy or as Isuzu (proabably depending on market), but probably in both guises...
Otherwise it's pretty tame for a Chevrolet pick up, more like a Hilux with a Malibu front end (as said before), lacks to a certain extent the machoness someone is expecting who buys a Chevy pick up outside the US. TO me most compact pick ups look the same apart from the grille, only the rounded Mitsubishi L200 and teh Nissan Navara have some kind of different style. But Ranger, Amarok, Hiulux, this - all pretty much the same body and bed, variations only at the front...

That's been known for some time. GM agreed to it in contract negotiations with the UAW.

it looks good! the current one looks like a skillet was utilized to make it the way it looks. with the curvatures, it actually adds dimension and depth.

I'm aware of the fact that the negotiations revealed a midsize pick-up would be built...but it was never officially the Colorado. Considering the fact that there is now a press release from GM...I hardly see my post as being irrelevant.

So if not the Colorado, then what? :idonknow: What prototypes of a compact GM pickup OTHER THAN the Colorado have been running around? :hammer: Is it really THAT hard to connect the dots on this one?

no it's not and I never said it was...but you're totally missing my point. don't fault someone for sharing a story about GM confirming that the Colorado is coming OFFICIALLY.
if you really feel the need to be crass and sarcastic in response every single post on this forum, which clearly you do, that's your prerogative...but i'm not going to feel badly for sharing a story in a continuing discussion on a vehicle. i'm not here to make up for the fact that you weren't hugged enough as a child...that's what therapy is for. perhaps you should look into it.

Oh that's we have to laugh at your "wittiness" :woot2: :)
Ok, Ford, now bring us the Ranger.
Not going to happen, Ford are more interested in selling/marketing their lower trim F-150s as a Ranger replacement, even though it's a lot larger, because it is a better seller in NA. I too wish they would bring the new Ranger here though. Best looking Pickup imho.

The front is an awful, ill-proportioned mess. I think I prefer a Mazda BT50 over this, and that isn't saying much.

Wow gm seems to be following the Trend it did when 2002 hit where they started putting out designs that people didn't like hoping they would get used to it. Ie. thr styling change for their trucks for 2003, the Aztek, etc... Hopefully they put out a GMC version so there is hope for a good looking front end.

Nope! :D (Mind you, both the Amarok and Ranger still look better (especially their interiors!)

And that's just sad. It's a shame that the looks of this wasn't based on the silverado.

But wait there is more!
They might not be called Colorado in the US.

I don't see any problem with the Colorado nameplate. Some automakers care too much about that...

Colorado evokes a horrid piece of poop excreted from the bowel of Isuzu. "S10" would be better at this point.

They also have to have it get amazing mileage. The American Colorado barely was any more efficient than a Silverado and barely offered any price advantage. This has to hit a high value for the dollar price point and have significantly better MPG.

Oh, absolutely.
The stately will sound funny; but if the Colorado was cheaper, with pronounced better fuel economy and more reliable - it's have been a winner,
The S10 was actually a pretty good product for its time. There is zero reason why they can't bring it back with a similar value equation and make it work

The Colorado was an Isuzu turd pure and simple and in every way worse than the American engineered S10.

That's probably why most things were wrong with it; I actually didn't mind the styling of it though; ad thought it was sized just right
