Ideas... may have been said before, maybe not...
A non-911 looking Porsche - car or range
Design a body over a given kit car chassis - Caterham/Westfield/7 replica chassis?
$15,000/£10,000 coupe/roadster - A fun car (a first car, cheap to run and insure) for the price of a small hatchback like a Honda Fit/Jazz.
A New Lagonda
A new Scion - Original Scion's were great, new Scions not so much, make a new Scion to make them good again!
Automoblox for real - Automoblox are wooden toy cars with changable bodies that fit together as a front end (engine), middle (passenger section), and rear (boot/trunk, pickup, station wagon, panel van, coupe etc). Make a set of real world interchangeable Automoblox cars.
Another idea: The Next Pagani. :)

Given the number of people here who have a dislike for the Porsche Panamera's unsuccessful "interpretation" of the 911 into a front-engined hatchback marketed as a sedan, how about a design competition to create a new design language for a Porsche sedan and by extension the design language for all non-911 Porsches. If all Porsches aside from the 911 were modern and not retro looking, what would they look like?

It seems like a few years ago some of the coolest cars coming out of Japan disappeared, Mitsubishi culled the GTO/3000GT, Nissan the 300ZX and Toyota the Supra. It would be cool to create the next generation of these cars sculpted to fit in today. These were some of the coolest cars to ever come out of Japan. I grew up looking at posters of the Mitsubishi 3000GT. Would be awesome to see new life breathed into these rivals. So in summary, a rebirth 3 rivals, capturing their spirit sculpted into today's car.

A new non-911... Porsche!
How about a Porsche "monospace" which would not exactly be a station wagon, nor exactly a minivan, and most decidedly not an X6 mess, but instead a vehicle capable of carrying 6 with fold down seats and the ability to carry two bicycles?
Swizzle sent over this idea to me.

How about a design contest for Volvo. They are great cars but haven been lost in so many designs. Would be cool if someone could give them a luxury boost that can set the standard for all future cars. Maybe the next S80 or XC90 since they are the oldest in the fleet.

I was thinking today of how cool it would be to see Group B rally revived and what a Group B car would look like today.
All in one piece or in bits hurtling through the air at 105mph?

Yes please! That would make an awesome contest.
Another idea... design a sub-£6,000 budget car, a proper 'people's car' like the original Beetle or Mini, that captures the public's imagination.

Good idea!
I'd like to see a contest to design a new stylish people carrier. Most people dismiss them as extremely boring, but there's lots of metal-work to carve into interesting shapes. There's lots of room (quite literally) for improvement on today's designs.

How about the (hopefully) forthcoming C-segment Lincoln?

Another good idea.
Quick question -
If Lincoln gets a rebadged version of the Mercury Comet that was supposed to be coming out, does that mean no more productionized Concept C?

What the heck happened to these? I'd love to see some new ones set up.

more like what the heck happened to the design section? Participation is at an all time low, but if there is enough interest for contests, we can get some going.
