I recently test drove the new gti and was simply amazed. Prior to driving it I considered the car to have an inferior engine and quality. Either they've changed a lot or I was completely wrong.
Though i've never driven an si/rsx or the wrx, i have fiends that at one point had them, and had the opportunity to check them out and ride in them.
This was the first time that I've driven a car and had nothing to complain about.
-best gearbox ever (can't feel the gears at all)
-smooth and powerful engine
-handles like it's on rails
-unbeatable interior and build quality
-very ergonomic with more standard features than any car under 30k!!!
I was wondering if I'm just blind to the other two main competitors or this car is that great.

I rode in an rsx and a wrx. I drove a legacy (same engine and gearbox as wrx)
I was wondering if anybody has driven the new wrx asn si.

I'm making the argument for the gti, and am trying to see what people that have driven the other two have to say about them

When I used those words I was talking about my experience. You're taking what I said out of context.
I could say that the interior is the best since I have been in a wrx and an rsx. I haven't been inside the new civic si but I expect it to have similar build quality to its "cousin."

let's see here...
gearbox - it is the best in a production car ever, you can't argue with that, the dsg shifts in .45s no other car made for consumers can beat that

As for...
"You could be describing any numer of cars here."
What was that supposed to mean? I was making a general remark complementing the car.

As for...
"On the Count of 3 every body sing... MOOOOOO CACA!!!"
According to edmunds.com the lowest sticker price possible for a 3 series vehicle has an MSRP of $31,595. This includes $695 for destination. Either way over 30K.
And you suggesting that I need stronger perception is like you telling Donald Trump how to manage finances.
So far in this thread you haven't made a single true statement while trying to disprove my observations. My advice is learn something about making arguments before trying to disprove others. Maybe it's just that you can't recognize sarcasm.

Modified by olegk21 at 9:05 PM 3/20/2006

What are you talking about?
He tried to disprove my statement of the gearbox. The cars he listed don't have a better transmission.
That's a load of crap. Same thing every week... nope. Yes I talk about similar cars but discuss different concepts. The poll was asking readers to talk about the other two to maker their claims.
Either you don't understand facts or you can't read.

You lads are out of your mind. Why all this hostility?
As far as I can tell he was just sharing his experince with a car and opened a discussion about how it compares to its rivals.

Exactly...
Since I haven't driven the other two yet, I wanted opinions from people who have. That was the only point of this thread.

I dissagree, but then I don't want to continue this ridiculous bashing that Santeno started and SuperFresa continued.
I said what was the purpose of this thread, but trying todisprove a fact with no actual data or information from a professional editor is completely rediculous and is never done by a "good reader" or journalist.

Though I don't agreee with you observations but they are your opinions so to each own.
I would, however, like to find out how you came to the conclusion the GTI has more standard features than any car under $30K. That leaves a lot of room for discussions, wouldn't you think?

Olegk21, see the problem is, you dont start threads asking genuinely what people think about a certain car or certain cars - what you do is make a thread stating a lot of things that are nowhere near true (or if they are, they aren't backed up whatsoever). And you acuse people who point out that your statements are not backed up and are bull's manure of bashing? And you disaprove of people who point out that you shouldn't be making wild claims of not being good readers and of not knowing how to make arguments?
