I don't think toyota would be replacing the century as soon as 2006. remember they are trying to revamp the lexus lineup, so its impractical to be developing a very very low volume model that would hardly make profits. Maybe when the lexus overhaul is finished.<p>For those of you who have not heard of this car before, here are some photos of the current car with Japan's only V12 engine, 5L in all with 280hp and 385lbft of torque<p><IMG SRC="http://www.autoindex.org/images/cars/1324/1365/norm_1_Japan.jpg" BORDER="0"> <br> <IMG SRC="http://www.autoindex.org/images/cars/1324/1365/norm_20_Japan.jpg" BORDER="0"> <br> <IMG SRC="http://www.autoindex.org/images/cars/1324/1365/norm_30_Century_China.jpg" BORDER="0"> <br> <IMG SRC="http://www.autoindex.org/images/cars/1324/1365/norm_50_Century_China.jpg" BORDER="0"> <br> <IMG SRC="http://www.autoindex.org/images/cars/1324/1365/norm_51_Japan.jpg" BORDER="0"> <IMG SRC="http://www.autoindex.org/images/cars/1324/1365/norm_60_Century_China.jpg" BORDER="0"><p>source: autoindex.org <BR><BR>

its the old gentleman's agreement, if you look at higher-end Japanese cars you notice alot of them have around ~270 hp, and it looks very suspicious indeed

For some reason I like the understated styling of this car especially the side profile and the rear end, not so much the front. If they are going to make a replacement, they should try to capture that feel. IMO the new rolls is way too loud and jumbo and Maybach looks just as classy as a waterfall grilled korean luxury car, think hyndai equus and Daewoo Chairman.

The only thing I like about this car, is the fact that it's a topend luxury car you can buy(in Japan, anyway) withOUT leather seats. <p>I don't understand why luxury cars have to be defined by must have leather seats. When the first Lexus LS came out, you can have it without leather as well. Now, I think the only Lexus you can buy that way is the IS(which should be called a Toyota) or the RX.
