Apparently official reveal here:

Looks way too much like the previous Optima to me.

Meh. It's been watered down so much. The front especially so. I don't like how Kia has reversed their sharp-edge design language from the last gen Optima to the more rounded one here and among their other cars.

The rear is good though. A little fussy with detailing (as most of the car is), but well proportioned. The interior is also very very nice (sort of Mercedes C-Class with those air vents). I'm iffy with the Nav screen, but it's typical for the industry now.

I'm hoping customers see this as more than just a tarted up Optima, but I'm just not sure. The way Hyundai/Kia have handled their brand image has been a train-wreck thus far...

Nice, but hardly what you'd call innovative looking. #A nice mixture of "seen here" and "seen there". The interior however is a bit close to Mercedes for comfort, nearly CHinese copy like.
There is nothing wrong with this car, but one would wish for something a bit more new when basically starting form a blank sheet of paper as Kia was here....

Besides the nav screen, I'm digging the interior.

I think it looks great. Definitely a Mercedes vibe going on inside, but it looks good.

So is it the Stinger or the GT...or the Stinger GT? Badging only says GT.

I guess this is why the Optima was revised to have three windows on each side, so they could co-opt the old car's sportier looking DLO and put it on the GT.

I'm pleasantly surprised.

Stinger. The GT trim is the top-line V6 version.
