Bomb Threats?
I've heard a lot of talk about this time of the year, a lot of schools get bomb threats. I didn't really think much of it, until our school was underlock down, infact our whole town and surrounding area was under lock down, due to a prank calling bomb threat.
The school wasn't evacuated but many parents including mine excused me from classes. I was just wondering if it was just my school, or if other people's schools were expirencing it too?

story if anybody wants it.

Something similar happened in my school back in April 1997.
The IRA placed several real semtex bombs and a few fakes onto the M1, M5 and M6 motorways. One of the bombs was near Junction 10a of the M6, which is only a few hundred yards away. We weren't allowed to go outside or stand near windows. The police evacuated us at lunch time, after which the bomb squad carried out a controlled explosion.
It was quite weird as J10 is one of the busiest section of the motorway in the country, and is naturally quite noisy. On that day there was just an eerie silence.

Ive had two in high school so far.
The first one was during AP testing last year which thankfully I did not have that day. It was just a threat called in and I am pretty sure it was someone trying to get out of the test. The school was evacuated
The second one was this year and it was after someone wrote something on a wall. The school was once again evacuated.
There are schools that I know of that have these things monthly pretty much. Around here no one expects it but thats why they take every one seriously.

We had a really minor scare at my school. Some guy was stuffing gunpowder into a ping-pong ball and sticking a string in it. He just got taken away and expelled (or suspended. Not sure which). And then word spread like wild fire.

The middle school my sister attends had a bomb threat a few weeks ago. Apparently it was some smart-ass 8th grader. Luckily, no one was hurt or injured, just a prick that felt it was necessary to scare thousands of people in his community.

Re: Bomb Threats? (SHEPO)
luckily my school has had nothing serious. we do have way way way more potheads than average. its probably because nearly my entire area is upper-middle to upper class people, who can afford the drugs. theres probably gonna be a policeman in my school tomorrow because of 4/20 and whatever.

Re: Bomb Threats? (against the wall)
My school's mostly upper-middle and upper class, but we don't have many potheads. Now, if anything associated with Collegeboard were drugs instead of cram books, my school would have the world's largest concentration density of druggies. X____X

We didn't have school today because of a threat:

Basically we get a two week vacation. Monday - Wednesday was canceled because of bad weather and today and tomorrow because of this. We'll just be going to school until July at this rate :P
