But - it has mags!

I wonder if this includes the fix for the gas tank....

I always saw it as hideously ugly but there is no denying the curiosity value. It's American competitor the Chevy Vega at least looked stylish with it's baby Camaro looks even if it was even worse overall.

If a Pinto goes for $12.5K then my 63 Thunderbird must be worth north of $50K.

Is your Thunderbird new/restored or scrap metal?

I don't get why Americans hate the Pinto. I thinks it is nice.

I think it's more the history resp. the way Ford reacted back then that made the car symbolic than the product itself. That said, at some point every car gets a classic, and sometimes being a decidedly subar car resulting in being very rare can drive prices up considerably after a while.

Also, a nice 1963 T-Bird (my favorite MY) should be worth a considerable amount IMO

Whatever, at least Americans cherish their/other old cars. Europeans don't give a sh*t, only the latest car with a certain badge is important. Ironically they care too much about what other people think of them.

I'm not sure if people are aware of this, but the wagon version of the Pinto was not part of any recall due to the fact that there is an extra 10 inches of rear end sheet metal and the fuel filler had a different configuration than the other models.
