The widest spot of the grille should meet the bottom edge of the headlights. This treatment makes the grill look like it came from a different design team than the headlights and they had an oopsie moment. The headlight shape itself is also odd in and of itself. This is one of the best looking, road-going Acuras in ages, but Honda still does not have a clue how to style cars.

Looks great. Love the new Acura face. New interior is handsome.

But I don't see how they could water this down more. Less vibrant paint color? Sans chrome on the bumper? It looks 100% production now.

It’s not a 2019...first because it’s a concept and secondly...because it’s 2018.

Quite happy to see a shift in the interior styling from current Acuras (besides that stupid shifter).

Legally, manufacturers can sell 2019 models after 1-1-18 and spring/summer introductions are routinely post dated so to speak.

Calling this a 2018 would be silly given that a 2018 RDX exists.

This looks like a concept in name only.

Well, either way this is the "concept" version, debuting at the 2018 NAIAS. Yes, you're correct...the RDX will likely debut as a 2019 because of the ability to sell after the 1st of the preceding year...but Acura itself is not calling this the 2019 RDX Prototype, it's simply how the facebook poster (and cuisine) titled the thread.

I'm referring to the concept being labeled as a 2019 specifically. So, no, calling this a 2018 RDX Prototype isn't silly.

What is surely prototype/concept about it are the side mirrors and the ground clearance. Production car ground clearance will be no better than an Audi A6 Allroad. And of course this Acura will not be off-road capable because FWD among many other reasons.

Surprised by the positive reactions. I think this is positively atrocious. Overwrought front end that seems to have drawn its inspiration from the 1960s Batmobile. The chrome trim on the top window line isn't nearly as elegant rendered as it is on the much cheaper CX-5. The floating roof is simply trite, at this point, and the tailights look to be directly lifted off any number of Honda products.

The interior is more cohesive than b/f (no longer having the dual-screen setup), but there are too many cutlines, textures/trims, and the size of the side button panels on the steering wheel is truly terrifying.

for this akura the chrome sweep on the top of the DLO seems a little too reminiscent of the accord

Why? Itís got the same number of buttons, if not less, than many other cars.
