I don't hate it, but... it looks sad. It also looks quite dated already.

That price will certainly not worry Tesla; The tech is certainly impressive, but 185k is indeed quite lofty; Then again, saying a 750hp Porsche for that money still sounds better than a 185k EV....

agreed that Tesla shouldn't be worried. I'd argue they're different consumers to a certain extent. But - for comparison, the similar performance Tesla is $100K.

The Porsche tech is interesting - but nothing that Tesla hasn't already done.

In Canada, a buddy configured one for entertainment purposes - $280,000!!!!!

Wrong and wrong. The Tesla is not similar performance. After one attempt at a quarter mile run, it will reduce performance to save the battery from overheating. The Tesla can't make more than one lap around a road course without going into limp mode for the same reason.

The Tesla is an EV with a very large battery that can perform circus tricks.

The Porsche was designed to be a performance EV, and will simply eat the Tesla's lunch when used as a performance car. Get beyond the Tesla's one trick, and it's over.

Yes the Porsche price is astronomical, but that's the way it's always been with Porsche. Nothing new there.

Tesla range is better. Range anxiety is among the biggest arguments against an electric. I'm sure Porsche knows and is working towards this.

Wrong.

You can do the ridiculous acceleration a few times, then it limits you to 'non-ridiculous' - which is still sub 4 seconds; hardly limp mode. They're supposedly doing Nürburgring next week - so we'll see about the one lap thing, but that sounds incorrect as well.

In terms of price, I agree. People pay a premium for Porsche (with good reason I might add), which is why I said they're arguably different markets.
