What I'm not seeing that they need is a redesigned Jetta and a redesigned Passat to inject some sales momentum back into those lines.

This probably applies to North American markets only, but I would like VW to work more on mass market models, rather than niche ones. Audi would be the prefect candidate to carry models such as the future Concept R (whatever it will be named), which likely to have premium pricing. Bring the Polo over, price decreases on the Golf, Jetta, and Passat to be more competitive, from a price standpoint only (yeah I know about the currency issues).

Forget everything else, I'd really like to see a Scirocco/Corrado, especially with a R32 engine and 4MOTION

Well said.

The Mid engine roadster along with the C1 are to compliment the Phaeton & Touareg. (I believe that the roadster will be exported to NA as a VW)

As for pricing VWoA are going to release the Golf V for under $16,000 according to rumors also rumors say Polo may not come if this strategy works.
Passat & Jetta will most likely stay as they are unfortunately until VWoA work out there pricing strategy which includes importation etc.

I agree VWoA need the Polo, as for VW trying to get sales momentum it is working they are finally listening to the NA customer.

What are you talking about the Passat has just been released

The Jetta will receive a mild facelift next year, I've heard from rumors.

VW will show a Coupe Study/Concept @ the 2006 Las Vegas SEMA show.
So maybe expect a surprise, remember last years VW showing the R-GT's concepts

As for the R32 VWoA will import a limited number next year.

I would love to see VW get into RWD cars.

That would be madness.

Yes It would definitely be madness, I hope the production version of the Concept R does not disappoint.

Now I wonder if Porsche will help..... not likely as they have the Boxter

I'm really looking forward to a 2nd generation Phaeton. I'm in love with that car, and I'm curious to see if a new generation can lift sales and built up the VW image. The origional A8 or LS wern't runaway sucess cars, but now in their newer generations both sell pretty well. Hope the Phaeton can follow this!

I can certainly see VW competing in a not too distant future with BMW & MB using price as a main strong point (and of course genuine good quality). That would mean Audi's would have to be the "premium" competitors for those that want more than a BMW or MB, I suppose? Because VW seems to be moving upmarket...

That would also mean that they have to start thinking about RWD. Unluckily, it doesn't sound likely that they will...

I'm actually quite looking forward to the GX-3 production, if that really is going to be produced.
