That is what people said about the Mercedes CLS and the BMW X6. Look now.

What???? The CLS was not a jacked up version of the E Class--heck the CLS isn't even jacked up at least in height--nor was the X6 a jacked up version of the 5 Series.

The way for Aston to do crossovers is to throw Aston styling on the GLE and the GLS. Now that Mercedes has them in a stranglehold oops I mean now that Mercedes is cooperating with them.

I agree. I do not want a vehicle looking like a jacked up Vantage.

Niche aka "4 door coupe" and "SUV coupe". SUV are pointless, they have neither better off-road capabilities than a normal lifted car, nor more space than a van, are not more comfortable than a sedan, don't handle anything close to "sport" despite their appellation (Sport Utility Vehicle).

Another veritable cash cow. Whilst I personally dislike this sort of vehicle, I can still accept it if it makes the brand more competitive and profitable, and thus being able to churn out more delicious sports cars. I do hope though it will be more attractive than what the mule suggests.

Exactly. I'm surprised people still react badly to the idea of any manufacturer nowadays releasing SUVs. It's where the market is, where the money goes and how else are they going to compete with the Germans and Italian makers?
