I hate the new rear end on the sedan. It came in NA this late? A friend bought a facelifted Legacy 2 months ago.

Yeah. Not anything unusual though, as this happens all the time. I know in the domestic market (Japan), this was available last year, early 06 iirc., and by the time they become available at dealers here, there will probably be close to a gap of a year and half, or more. Historically, it has always been this way - the Toyota Corolla comes to mind, which is a good example of "gapping releases" between markets.

The grille looks different but nicer than japanese model for Outback version.

my family and i have owned subarus for almost 15 years. i wrote a letter to subaru asking if any of the JDM Legacys would be carried over, they said yes, exactly. THis is not the grill on the JDM car so now i kind of feel lied to. But i must agree, saying ive lost all respect is too intense. I will always remain a sooby freak, i just wont write letters to the consumer affairs dept.

PS: IMO this grill is similar to the grill seen in the impreza spyshots.

I have an Outback XT in the same color as the one above. I don't see the new front end as an improvement. The grill and bumper actually look less sporty than mine..... but it's not ruined or anything.

The Legacy front end is much improved. The previous model always had a weak chin and the new lower facia goes along way to fixing that.

The real news will be the interior upgrades. I know there will be rear AC vents and hopefully a new HVAC system without a mind of it's own. And better interior lighting when one unlocks the car.

The redesigned tailights and bumper of the sedan was a negative change IMO. The wagon still looks good pre and post facelift though.
