Honda designed the S660 platform with US safety standards in mind. Though the S1000 could be a wider and larger S660, or something with different styling, or a compromise between the two.

If that's true and if they can price it advantageously, it would be a hit. Perfect for city dwellers. Perfect for a teenager's first car. Perfect for a tow'd.

But more importantly, this is the great, old Honda spirit alive and well.

S660 is Japan only, but we are getting a S1000, or some other car on that platform.

S660 is coming to Europe, but a longer and wider version with an 800cc engine making 100 HP. Should go on sale in a year or two. Demand in Japan will fall around that time, so offering it in Europe makes sense. Rumored to be built in Swindon alongside the S1000 which might end up being Honda's 4C competitor.

Looks I am wrong about S660 meeting US safety standards. Looking like there will be no S660 in america. Possibly S1000 or S2000 or both. There are plans for a bunch of MR sports cars.

No S660 for the US, but Europe will likely get a slightly wider and longer S800 in a couple of years. S800 is also rumored to be S660 Type-R, but Honda is using more displacement instead of more boost for reliability and it should be able to have around 100 HP.
