For info, the only other car with symmetrical AWD is the 911 with AWD.
Everyone has AWD.
Everyone has AWD that is shockingly competent.
Subaru is special ONLY for strange styling and Super Beetle engines.

Subaru is master in making all new models look like they were facelifted ones, and - unlike say Audi or BMW - also in a way that makes it look like the facelift is an afterthought and marries two design languages that don't go together. Check the new Impreza. Looking at the green house you could swear it's just a sheet metal change, yet it is an all new platform with different dimensions.

One could argue that Subaru's AWD is one of the last proper AWD systems left, that actually is always AWD, not only a "traction helping device" when one wheel is slipping. Though there are advantages, 99,99% of drivers don't actually care what system they have (thus Audi can get away with calling everything Quattro", and even the new "hardly ever coupled rear differential system" called Ultra Quattro, which might make you think it is even "better"), so you are correct with "everyone has AWD"....

Everyone has AWD. But other than Porsche, nobody has equal-length half-shafts on the front axle (or in the case of the 911, rear). It's something the Boxer engine format makes easy to do, and that's what makes it symmetrical. And yes, it does make a difference, because of the physics involved in making two wheels turn at identical speeds when applying torque through half-shafts of different weights and lengths. At this point, pretty much all systems use computer programming to make up for those differences, but even so, Subaru's is still one of the best, precisely because of the physics involved.

I'm with you in that Porsche is the only other car maker with a symmetrical AWD offering.

However, let's refrain from insulting others based on their opinions, comments and beliefs. And, last time I checked, this was an automotive-related forum, not a political one.

So, let's make America (and this forum) great again. Thanks.
