All-New Toyota FJ Cruiser Sport Utility Vehicle World Debut - Chicago -- February 9, 2005 -- Don Esmond, senior vice president and general manager, Toyota Division, unveils the all-new Toyota FJ Cruiser sport utility vehicle for media at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show today. "The FJ Cruiser will deliver true off-road ruggedness, image and performance at a very low price, making it highly accessible for a large volume of young buyers," according to Esmond. Power for the five-passenger FJ Cruiser is supplied by a 4.0-liter V6 engine that generates 245 horsepower and 282 lb-ft. of torque. The Toyota FJ Cruiser will go on sale early 2006. Oh my gosh, I love this car. I can see this being very popular a la Beetle or PT Cruiser. If they price this in a similar fashion to the Element, I might actually get one since I'm going to be replacing my current car with an SUV.
