Default 2011 Toyota Vitz/Yaris

The first REAL pictures, taken from a JDM catalog.

First picture is the RS version, with the optional JDM "Modellista" styling kit

Second picture is the complete line-up. (also featuring a Hybrid version!)

About as great replacement as the new Micra. Looks more slab sided and duller than before. People will probably go crazy for it offering a Hybrid, but given that we're talking about a small and light car savings might probably not as great.

Yeah, unfortunately the originality and charm of the Mk1 Yaris has gone through the usual Toyota process of becoming more dull and ordinary with each new generation (see also the evolution of Rav-4).
The front reminds me equally of older JDM Honda's while the headlights also bring the Renault Clio to mind. The back is just like the new Micra you mentioned mick78, its as if Japanese designers have given up...

Standard model, plus a pic of the interior. Which again lost all it's originality. Now a mix between Honda Jazz and new Nissan Micra. Not that I mind the lack of central instrument cluster, but alltogether it's far less original than before...

Thank goodness the Citroenesque thing sold as the Yaris is being give some real styling. Gone are the ridiculous headlights replaced by ones that are size appropriate. Much better.

So with the headlamps being an improvement, you think the rest of the car looks much better? Cause i think its as generic as it gets

I always find it amusing how JDM car's press photos of interiors show verions without a stereo, but a big black dounble DIN plastic piece...
SO in Japan, even top versions versions with climate control and leather seats come without a stereo?

Haji says that it's basically useless for manufacturers to put a stereo in their cars (in lower segments anyway) because everyone upgrades anyway.
