Clearly more an enviromental/political signl than really a good car.
Most probably, seems ECOTY is back to their old ways. The do tend to vote for cars that stand out in some field, either in design or technology. The Opel Insignia was one of the very few exceptions to this
I applaud the award to Nissan and it is fantastic to see an electric get this recognition but my one problem with the leaf is the design of the thing, it looks hideous, I know it is electric and it doesn't need a front grill and etc, but those front headlights are horrible. Overall the front is a disaster. As for the interior, I am not a fan of the colour options and the black centre console sticks out like a sore thumb and I hope it is just the photos, but some of the dash plastic looks cheap. I seriously hope a facelift will make it look a bit better. That being said, I am curious to see when a magazine takes one of these for a long term test and what the results of the test will be.
