Although not ugly like the new Q7, still disappointing. I really liked the current R8, it had a stance of it's own, but this is jsut a mix of old R8 (well, a lot), which after many years is not that fresh anymore, and regular, now boxy Audi lines. The interior also has something strange, the button loaded sports car steering wheel and virtual instruments kind off don't mix fir me with the center stack and MMI controls, that could come from virtually any Audi A1 - A8; The same goes for that business sedan black/grey interior color...

I really don't like this new grille implementation, it's putting me off (even more so on the Q7), the whole grille and surrounding area looks like an afterthought / out of place / a foreign body. The TT front design is much more successful in this regard IMO.

Agree. Audi should find something else and start moving away from the Singleframe. It was innovative at its time and created a trend, but now it's a burden for them. Time to move on i say.

They've butchered it. They absolutely butchered it. That horrendous grille, castrated side blade, silly little slats on the front and rear intakes, angle-fied but otherwise barely untouched rear...

It doesn't look like a new car, and worse, it looks like the laziest job ever. This is a step back.

Having seen the original Audi Le Mans concept in Melbourne around ten years ago, I feel quite strongly on this topic. I also feel they haven't done anything to capture that radical originality and desirability that was the previous gen R8.

This has sort of happened before with the original TT. The first gen turned heads everywhere, whereas the second and third are so generic, they barely get a glance... at least from me.

I'm a very sad panda today.

This new R8 should make Ford reconsider the GT.

As in, they should reconsider how much they're limiting the production. I suspect a lot of R8 owners might be interested in switching to GT once they see this thing.

There is nothing i like about this R8, it's a design failure big time.
There are some weak elements based on the Nanuk.

At least the interior seems like a win.

Audi is no longer pioneering, but simply trying to keep in line with consumer demand and trends. This isn't some A4 that depends on safe conservative looks to push sales to the uninformed. It's the damn halo car that should be pushing the limits of the brand, not blending in.

Sublime. A terrific evolution of the already fantastic design of the first generation. In my opinion Audi are one of very few car manufacturers that consistantly design great looking cars. The new single frame grille looks great on the R8.
