Hello everybody! Especially to the many friends I left here a couple of years ago.... no names, they all know...
Since I left a couple of years ago, many differents things happened. Keeping to those related to cars, in cronological order:
- I totalled my Honda Accord. Trying to speak on the cellphone while writing down a note AND driving is not safe...
Repair was too expensive compared with the value of the car, so I sold it.
- I drove for about a year my late mother's Fiat Punto. Although cheap and slow, still some fun on hill roads, thanks to its relatively light weight...
- I bought, in may, a Suzuki Swift Sport, 'cause I wanted a fun car for everyday use and for trackdays. It probably was the cheapest solution, and I'm absolutely delighted with it.
- I also bought four light alloy rims and four trackday tires (Toyo R888)...
- I began going to trackdays. Swift is pure and absolute fun. Although beeing a FWD, it's quite exhilarating to drive, very easy and willing to forgive mistakes on the driver's side.
It hasn't got much grip, but this makes it easier to drive fast: it never is a matter of "I've got it/It's got me", on the contrary it's quite happy to let the driver balance it on the edge of the traction circle.... gentle modulation of gas allows continuos balancing of under/oversteer... I'm absolutely delighted about this car's balance...
