Dayum. Those are quite the impressive MPG figures.

I really don't know how I feel about the car's looks. It's a solid evolution of the Mondeo, but it just..... I durno, The idea that I'll be seeing these in the US just strikes me as odd for some reason.

AMAZING! Best designed Ford saloon EVER! I love how they took the best parts of the Mondeo and made it 10 times more sporty, aggressive and coherent as a design. This will eclipse the likes of the Passat and the Insignia

ps: looking at those wallpaper sized photos, the only thing i don't love is the way the headlights look in profile, they sort of bring Mitsubishi to mind somehow

I'm due for a new car early next year and this looks like it may fit the bill.

Hopefully there is an ST version.

Great multimedia experience here:

http://fordfusionstory.com/

After viewing this you'll believe that Fusion will rule the world (or at least it's segment). Is there nothing Ford can't do?

Btw how come even though both the new Kuga and Mondeo where presented (both obviously based on the European models) we have yet to see either of the 2 nameplates representing the 2 yet?? Could the Escape and Fusion replace Kuga and Mondeo world-wide? Personally i am in favor of dumping the Kuga name for Escape since the first is still relatively new and not very successful...

Is this a new car or facelift of the current Euro Mondeo? A big one, because of a a few things like the the mirror's mountings being moved to the door skins, but the basic car does look similar.

Looks like a major facelift to me even though in a video they where talking about how they managed to make the A-pillars really think etc as if they had designed this one from scratch. In any event i love the new look and i prefer the euro version a bit more (the one without the orange side-indicator in the head lights

Although perhaps a little too evolutionary in terms of change at the rear, overall this is without doubt the cleanest and classiest new Ford design in a while. Top stuff.

So far I'm a bit undecided - it does look good, but then again it does because the Modeo already did look good, and it is evolutionary like it was a facelift (I'm sure the body is mostly new though, platform however could be a carry over indicated by the sma ewheelbase, even most of the inteior looks similar, like the structure below new surfaces were the same (general shape of dash, center console, positioning of instruments).

However, at least I prefer it to the overly busy Focus, the Fusion's detailing is way more elegant and coherent (even if the grille is quite Aston as pointed out by many).

I hope though they don't name it Fusion in Europe, the last Fusion (the boxy Fiesta version) is nothing you would like to be reminded of...
