They did "preview" the hood on the recent Panamera Sport Turismo Concept. Looks like they managed to make it to production.
On a separate note, in Malaysia, if this car is pronounced as "ma-Kahn" instead of "ma-Chan", it will be literally translated as "eat" (makan).

I hate to admit how much I like this, but I have to. Nice proportions, nice interior, and impressive specs.. It's a new gen Porsche that isn't a complete disgrace to the brand.

That's nuts considering they didn't have to pay for the development of a brand new platform, but just borrow from the Q5.
I wonder the the 3 liter turbo engine is related to Audi's supercharged 3.0L V6?

According to CNET there will be a turbo 4-cylinder as the base model, and the 3.0 Turbo with 340HP is actually the Macan S.
So if you compare the Macan S to the Cayenne S, there is a much bigger difference in price ($17,000)
Macan S starts at $49,900
Cayenne S: $66,800
The author of the Carscoops article is an idiot.

It's overpriced by maybe $5k, but Porsche know they can get that much more for their cars than Audi and BMW. It's a 340HP, 5-seat Porsche that does 60mph in 5 seconds. I don't think they'll have a lot of problems selling these.

Lol, I don't know how in the US, but here in Europe the only Q5 model in the 30s (€ this is) are the 2 liter 4 bangers, I don't know how you would expect the Macan to start in this regions.
The SQ5 is 60.000€ in Germany (with the 313hp 3.0TDI), the Macan S Diesel starts at 58.000€ (with the 250hp 3.0TDI), so it doesn't seem so wrong for what it is in comparison.
