These are all great suggestions, I'll see what I can do in the forum settings and start moving things around later today.

The legacy cars section, maybe below the 2018/2019 section

I kinda thought that having a New Car 18 section plus a separate New Car 19 section that get retired into the legacy New car section would work. At some point we'll be done with 18. That time is coming fast (thank you Ram)

I'm not sure that the MY thing works, as not every car gets a new version every year; I think as soon as the replacement is on the market (and I don#t mean subtle facelifts etc.), the previous gen should go into the Leagcy section, but outside the US the whole MY game is different to hardly existent, so I feel that those would just create a lot of duplicate threads...

agreed, that would be too cumbersome to manage. we also tend to use existing threads when facelifts debut so that discussion can continue where it left off - that wouldn't be possible under that sort of organization

The next generation or news of a discontinuation would, of course, mean the current model be banished to the legacy area (with the ZDX).

I think: spyshot (until there is a proper official release) => new car (whilst the basic car is in production) => Legacy section (after replaced/out of production without replacemnet) is a good way to go....

I remember when the spyshot thread would be locked after unveiling (but then it could stay open for a performance or facelift version)
