Well, to be fair, the Genesis coupe is very old. A new one is on its way....

Lets wait till they hit the streets to see if this is sort of a RWD mazda millenia or mitsu diamante or indeed a budget 3 series.

Given how accurately the G80 has targeted the 5/E, budget 3 Series is believable.

You know, I personally wouldn't RWD Millenia or Diamante.... Perhaps the Stinger will be more similar to those cars.

which is part of the marketing blunder of taking a name known only for a ricer-3/4 G35 and a Lexus rip-off and trying to start a luxury brand out of it. You only get one shot at a first impression. Would've started with a fresh name that had no prior affiliation with Hyundai. I think it's part of Tesla's success that the brand had a clean slate when trying to go after the Germans and other luxury marks. At the time it was a relatively unknown brand with only one performance roadster to its name and it offered a unique product. I think German buyers will therefore continue to overlook anything with a Genesis badge, which the bitter can call snobbery but i think it's more an appropriate response to a poor marketing strategy. The Hyundai Genesis sedan and coupe hadn't built up enough good will to warrant being their own brand. As an Acura/Volvo competitor, Genesis makes more sense, but then I don't know why we also need Hyundai AND Kia.

No, I frequently make errors while typing. ::sigh::

I meant, "I would mind a..." And only the first-gen Diamante....

US pricing finally available. I think it's very well-priced, and even a base G70 is (not surprisingly) very thoroughly equipped.

It's $5K too high to be considered.

I think the MSRP is good, but I think Genesis's dealership strategy is total mess, and my understanding is that they don't offer the lease deals you can get w/ MB and BMW. That's going to be a problem, no matter how good the car is (since I imagine relatively few people do an outright purchase of brand-new luxury vehicles nowadays).

I know that I'll certainly be taking a good look at one in a few yrs, although I might also be taking a long, hard look at the Mazda CX-5 Signature (Canada dealer docs confirm it's coming next year).
