Well anything to put real horsepower into the Miata. There are some of us that know that all the BS about "balanced handling" is what people have made up to make excuses for the lack of power. The Miata does handle well and because of that it should have a high power option for people who do not see power as evil.

I happen to prefer naturally aspirated engines over turbos.

I personally prefer N/A over Turbo as well (e.g. better stock exhaust sound)

That said, I'm not sure if the ND was designed to house a 2,500cc engine (or whether a 2.5 liter engine can even fit inside the engine bay)

theres a lot of miatas out there with way more power than stock and nobody hates them!

same with the elise/exige, some of those (stock too) have pretty big horsepower and they never did wrong

I actually prefer the 'whoosh' rush of a turbo; just so much glorious torque! Also - the 2.5T in this car (if it fit)?? That'd be a riot!

To each their own though...in the Camaro / Mustang - I'd totally go 6 cyl.

Indeed in the Mustang you pay more for the 2.3 Ecoboost over the V6 and get NOTHING in return.

Yup. And I've heard nothing but good things about the 6 Camaro...except (ironically) it sounds too much like a 4 cyl.

If TVR did a Miata

The above link is a picture of a Miata that has been given a TVR Sagaris-ish makeover. Can you imagine a TVR Miata with the 2.3 Ecoboost and bonkers styling? I can.

I prefer the look of this to the Mazda, not that this is much of a compliment. Nevertheless, it looks purposeful.

A friend has a Tuscan Speed 6 and a Sagaris LS7 conversion. Granted they can only be driven at the track, but I've been a TVR nut since I was 11. That's 44 years ago.

I'll never be able to afford one, but a Miata with a TVR body kit would work for me. Yes...a wannabe, but I can accept that.
