The face remains horrid and Infiniti's trademark D-pillar treatment looks as daft as ever. If this design is a look at Infiniti's future, it's looking rather sad.

The problem is this immediately looks like some other un nameable infiniti model already on sale (but not selling much).

Long gone are they days of the G35 + coupe and the wildly successful G37 + coupe.

Hell, I'd be happy w/ an "original" G20 (given how bloated and excessive most cars are today).

I think that, perhaps aside from Acura, Infiniti (and, really, Nissan) has the biggest identity problem among well-established manufacturers. What's the mission statement for the company? What sort of aspirational lifestyle are they trying to sell? Why would someone want to buy this car over MB, BMW, Audi, Lexus, etc.? Heck, why would someone want to buy an Infiniti over a Nissan?

These questions aren't just about marketing; they presumably also help guide what products are made and planned....

At this price point the Brand and the identity built behind it are just as important as the features, equipment and value on offer.

Infiniti has truly lost itself in record time, the new 2 door car isnt going to make much difference either.

Maybe Nissan-Renault should buy the Alfa Romeo name. Either that or move the GTR to Infiniti as the Infiniti GTR and follow it with a coupesedan version as the Infiniti Skyline. Yes, an about face, but the current path is going nowhere.

GT-R has nothing Nissan about it, it almost is just a brand. GT-R has exclusive engine, transmission, wheels, design, interior (except some switches, but Ferrari also has some Fiat parts like the incandescent frunk light from Fiat Punto). The GT-R has GT-R badge in front, GT-R badge on key instead of Nissan. Only trunk and engine has Nissan badge, but those could be replace, it would not be a Nissan GT-R but just a GT-R. Infinity GT-R would not change anything. NSX on the other hand is just a Honda/Acura (the same thing), but that is what makes it great: supercar without supercar badge. A lot more appalling opposed to "look-at-me-attention-whore" Italians and Germans,
