Default Folding Urban Bikes

so this semester we got an exercise to do a folding urban bikes
my idea is a main profile instead of using "regular" tubes

only sketches so far... 3-d model will come too evantually

Hi or2001,

I haven't been checking out the design section much, just checking this out now. Very neat designs, I'm curious about the steering. Does the center hinge cause steering or just the handlebar?

This is awesome, what program did you use to design these? or are they actual prototypes which were built?

i used Solidworks for the model, and Keyshot for the rendering... BUT we did build a mock-up version of the bike, made out of laser-cut wood-plates

Awesome! And yep, the Solidworks model cleared it up quite a lot for me too. It's a very impressive model! I can just imagine the satisfaction of putting it all together in an assembly haha

(Just a suggestion - perhaps a few 3D arrows could show how the swivel folding action works)
