The best looking Volvo we've seen in a while. Looks decent.

This is yet another dull effort from Volvo.
there's a LOT I doN'T like - both IN & OUT - and hoping for better from the S60
but,
I DO like the "metal-ribbon" trim on the dash & the square-ish vents by the doors...wish that theme was used more

WANT

IMO it's flawless. This and the Q5 tie for best inside and out in terms of design.

Volvo is killing it, I wish I could afford one!

so, mediocre chinese traps are "bring them at once to the US", and gorgeous european cars are "perfect for China". got it. but then again, didn't expect anything less from you.thank goodness there's a lot more to this planet than trumpland.

The XC60 will definitely be in the middle of a hotly contested segment, and though it may not be the most compelling vehicle in the segment, it may be the vehicle Volvo needs. Selling 82K units in the USA for an Acura/Buick level brand isn't that healthy. If priced right, this could reverse that fortune.

Volvo is a successful SUV company. It may be all they offer soon enough.

The brands it competes with in the market sell more SUVs though.

...for now! ;)

(Haha, I have no idea if that is true, I just wanted to add some dramatic tension.)

What is the most compelling car in this segment then?

The XC60 has been the best selling midsize premium SUV/CUV for years, even with younger competitions around. It might not be the king in the US, but as it is sold globally, unlike Acura, Buick and other brands, and does sell in numbers in Europe as well (combined quite a large market too, even if some might think as"that doesn't count"), it managed to hold that position for years. I guess Volvo won't see it as a failure, and I doubt this new model will be...
