I'm sure enthusiasts will jump all over me for this but.... so they changed the headlights and bumpers for exterior design...ok.

Again I ask - what on earth do FCA exterior designers do to fill their day??

SERIOUSLY. Do they even have any anymore?

Same thing as VAG designers.

looks great. they should offer a "Grand Wrangler" that allows this model to stay true to its roots and offer something with more legroom in the back and even more luxury. Not that I necessarily want it but there's definitely an unmet market of past G wagon and Defender buyers who would eat it up.

I think the reference was more that new VAG products look a lot like existing VAG products.

This said - I wouldn't exactly use VAG as the high water mark of how a company should be run....
- TROC isn't coming to NA - which would be a miss for this category
- Atlus is a large, lumbering turd
- Jetta / Passat...Jetta is actually ok, but Passat - yawn....
- Golf - reportedly a great car; but trails Civic, 3, insert any car company here (ex FCA) for style of small cars.
- Diesel gate....

FCA doesn't need to keep up w/ the market (which they're not) - they need to deliver exceptional products that leapfrog the competition...which they're not.

In fairness - Wrangler is a tough one to style...stray too far and the loyalists get worked up (square headlights is a good example)....so while this style is nice, nobody will ever notice that it's meaningfully different than the last. What WILL matter is what they've done under the hood / inside. From that stand point - it could be interesting.

Oh, no I get that. I was just pointing out that it's an apples and oranges comparison because at least they have new products (even if they look similar to the outgoing generations).
