Something like this--Fiesta sized--would probably work in the USA.

Pretty much what the Nissan Cube is/was - did it work in teh US? In Europe, it was withdrawn form sale very soon. I guess either people were only applauding but not buying (what i suspect), or a Nissan dealer was not were potential "quirky buyers" went.....

The original xB sold fairly well, and the Soul continues to do pretty well.

The Cube was a bit too "out there" (personally, I thought the asymmetry was nice but didn't quite like how... blobby and melted it look compared to the second-gen model).

Well the Soul and original xB are still rather traditional in comparison to the quirkiness of most Kei cars (as this here, e.g.), so I thought the cube was the closest. I knwo the initial Scion was a huge sales success, no wonder the Kia Soul was a Box on wheels as well initially....
