Given that Honda is using Garmin, its a shame that on the 2016 Pilot, that the maps remain in true Honda fashion horribly out of date.

Whats worse is that on the Pilot, there is basically no connection beyond basic BT to anything useful on the head unit.

What are the odds on a car half the price of the Pilot that Honda can get it right?

1/2 the price, 3X the volume. The Civic is a much more important car for Honda - they NEED to get it right.

My thoughts on the exterior:

- The front is a bit of a mess and too busy. In particular, the extent of chrome and the front bumper inserts are too heavy-handed;
- The rear bumper inserts appear unnecessary and don't do the side profile any favours;
- The wheel design choices aren't all that appealing.

It's OK, but it's not best in class in the looks department, and the detailing let this down unfortunately. It appears that it could be quite colour sensitive - it will look far better in black/dark grey tones than lighter colours.

IMO, the new Civic is a home run!

The interior looks like it could fit into Audi's lineup, but the trapezoidal and layered shape of the dashboard/center console makes it more masculine and high tech.

Another thing I always liked about the Civic is how rigid the body feels. I had a 2002 with 180K on it before I bought another car, and there were ZERO squeeks and rattles from the dash. The newer ones feel even more solid and ride smoother too.

My only gripe is the CVT trans, but it more than makes up for it with top marks in just about every other category.

The exterior is just plain awesome.

Perfect. The Civic is ripe to win over the segment with what they'll be offering by 2017. The sedan and hatch already strike above their class in terms of design, in and out, and the number of features and efficiency they wrangle. The hatch and Type R will just round off the utility and performance end.

So glad to see the concept survive 99% to production.

Not a fan of the coupe AT ALL. It took the details that I was iffy on with the sedan and just made them worse. Ugh.

would have looked cool if they integrated the reverse light somewhere else. still somehow looks conventional the way it is.
