If You Could Reinvent A Brand
With several brands (Infiniti and Cadillac) changing their naming schemes, Genesis inventing theirs, Jaguar creating a strange pattern for their crossovers, and Lincoln messing with theirs it made we wonder how people would recast a brand that is unfocused.
With VW having historically been arrogant to the NA market by insisting that NA customers should swallow what der farterland churned out and now dieselgate giving them a royal trashing, it made me think VW needed a clean sheet approach to the NA market.
A Segment / Student an NA version of the UP built in China 3 door $12.5K base
B Segment / Salsa an NA version of the Polo built in China 3/4/5 door $15K base
C Segment / Samba Golf/Jetta replacement 3/4/5 doors $18K base
D Segment / Santana / Passat replacement $21K base
B Segment / Shadow think Polo crossover $15K base
C Segment / Scout $20K base
C/D Segment / Scimitar think Edge competitor $25K base
D Segment / Sahara $27.5K base
E Segment / Sabre think reskinned Expedition and yes I am suggesting that partnership $40K base
B Segment / Shark mid-engine and RWD rebodied as a Porsche 922 $20K base for VW
C Segment / Scirocco front-engine and RWD rebodied as a Porsche 944 $25K base for VW
D Segment / Sonora front-engine V6/V6T LWB version of Scirocco rebodied as a Porsche 966 and yes I am suggesting a next-gen Mustang/Porsche partnership $30K base for VW
C Segment / Ohm $33K base
V-100 / think Amarok built in Mexico $25K base
V200 / think rebodied F150 $33K base
Of course these would need to be priced to the penny like the competition.
Of course these would come with the VW Vantage Point warranty:
3 years / 50K miles bumper to bumper, no questions asked, maintenance included
10 years / 100K miles on engine, engine management systems, transmission, no questions asked, maintenance included
