Default 2020 Porsche Mission E (J1)

http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/n...ng-765940.html

The Porsche Mission E Concept now testing as a production version, and at least the design seems surprisingly close to the concept car;

Technical info is naturally rather sparse at this time, but Porsche aims to keep the concept cars (claimed)= range of 500 km (315 miles), which again probably won't be that much by the time we can actually buy this car (unless it means a 500 km range in every day driving conditions and not government testing)

Unlike the concpet it will not have a B-pillar less scissor door concept, but Porsche is talking about special doors, so let's see what that means

Yes yes yes! This along with the Mercedes IAA are some of my favorite concepts to come out in the last 5 years. I'm glad they're staying close to it. Majorly, the headlights, behind those stickers, look all new for Porsche, like the concept illustrated.

Really excited to see the final product.

Ah damn, so it looses the "coke bottle" shape of the concept.

still looks sexy as hell though! Porsche definitely has one of the more relevant lineups to current market trends, with nothing but 4 door coupes and SUVs (and of course sports cars). Newcomers like Genesis and even Infiniti would be wise to follow suit instead of 3 box sedans if it they want to have a chance -- not at being Porsche but at attracting buyers to the brand.

I think it will look good, the 911 has looked better in other generations and porsche doesent need to style a car well to sell it in any case.

Indeed. As long it it is a caricature, all is well.

they also usually take 2-3 generations to get it right (ie not ugly), as was the case with the Boxter and most definitely the Cayenne and Panamera.

Or they could have just produced the mission E concept and owned the luxury sedan market

Yes, this. I was hoping that the actual car would be more Fisker Karma (or whatever it's called now) and less 911 (which I think is a fine looking car, but Porsche already makes a 4-door 911).
