However, thanks to not requiring a long nose as there are no petrol engines, this does actually look like a 4 door 911, or one of the few cases of an actual 4 door coupe altogether. The Panamera, as much as it has improved, still is a large fastback/hatchback sedan by it's shape....

Depending on the angle, the Coke bottle shape is still there, Just the camoed kinked up window and balc as a color hide it a bit, and the smaller, production ready wheels stress it less. By concept to production vehicle standards, this ranks still high IMO....

Oh, don't get me wrong; I think the production model will be perfectly attractive, but I was just hoping for something a bit more sexy. Porsches can be quite handsome, but they aren't sensual in the way that the Italians or even Brits can do. I actually didn't find the concept to be sensual, either, but I appreciated that Posche was willing to be more risk-taking, in terms of the concept shape.

So glad Germans got coerced by Tesla to build BEVs. Now we'll finally have good cars (still will need to hack them to get our all the automated driving stuff).

I plan to laugh when Porsche and Mercedes school Tesla on how to do an EV right.

Who cares if Tesla passes by? Fact is without Tesla we would still have ICEs, and BEVs would remain the 'eternal near future'. If Tesla passes by, so will every other American brand, including your beloved crap Fords, GMs, and Chryslers (Jeep, Dodge, Ram).

Can always visit the hallowed grounds of the local junkyard to hold vigil.

Of the US auto industry, what company holds as much esteem and even jealously in the automotive industry?

When was the last time anyone wanted to copy the exact plan and signature technology of a US automaker? Before Tesla everyone and their best competitor wanted to be BMW. Mersaydeeznuts-Benz brought back the inline 6 because of BMW for cod's sake.
