Whatever it looks like, it has to come out at once. We have had two Astra generations since the current Insignia was launched, and it is hopelessly behind competitors in terms of engineering. Hopefully mk2 will loose a couple of hundred kilos.

It will be interesting to see how the Buick version is marketed. The problem with the Regal was that it was not a lot bigger than the Verano, but easily cost as much as a Lacrosse. If they put the next Regal at the Verano's price point, it might actually sell.

So it will be more spacious, thus 200kg lighter and have more modern engines. Basically curing all shortcomings of the current model. However question remains how relevant this segment still is in Europe, I hardly ever see any non premium d-segment car that is not a fleet vehicle...

Wagon spied. The rear looks a worry:

To be fair, much of the rear end still seems to be camo resp. fake body panels, so IMO to early to make a judgement. However it has a longer rear overhang , so most likely a way bigger boot (the Astra estate is more spacious as well than the car it replaces), so eliminating a major critics point....

I also think the rear windowline (past the C-pillar) is camo'd, but it's not THAT far off of a render from awhile back:

Not sure if the artist has a good track record, though.

And apparently the Subaru Outback, Audi Allroad, the Volvo V60 Cross Country will be getting some U.S.-branded competition!

I don't mind if it is well executed and doesn't mean zero visibility. Problem is, it hardly ever is well executed. Also, if everyone goes for that look, it's hardly something that makes your design stand out....
