Our Mazda5 is 2 years old and it's got around 24,000kms. A lot less in miles.

It's about 124,000mi, to me for an 87 that's really low. But I think i'm missing something big about conversion, fill me in if i am.

I always thought it was 100 kilometers to 62 miles. I'm no good with math, but I am guessing that my Saabs mileage would be 200,000 kilometers.
It isn't a really vast mileage, there are a lot of cars with over that, but my point is that it still feels fresh and new.

I called allstate for an insurance quote and it will be $225 a month for the saab. IMO thats a great deal.

In insurance? I'm 17, and even as the primary on my car, I only pay $450 every quarter. $2700 a year sounds incredibly steep.

keep in mind that insurance premiums differ greatly from person to person. aside from different insurance companies...factors such as where you live, what you drive, how much you drive, and the amount of coverage you carry (some states require you to carry more coverage than others), and the amount of your deductible, can have a big impact on your premium.

Well guys, my family has gone completely against me and they dont want me having a nice car since i'm a new driver and i'm being forced to spend under $9,000. The plan for them is to get me a cheap car now and then something really nice in a year around when i graduate.

This is what i'm looking at now:

2000 Lexus ES300
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...st=10

2001 Land Rover Discovery
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...st=31

2002 Nissan Maxima
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...st=20

2002 Saab 9-5
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/...st=20

opinions:

es- my favorite out of all them. love the color.
discovery- gas mileage would kill me, the car is huge, but it would be a lot of fun to have
maxima- its ok, dont hate it, not drooling over it
saab- its nice, very practical.

mileage of the car is not a concern at all for me at this point.

How about an old A4 or 3er? Like a 99 or something? They're awesome and you can likely get a good one for that price
