Default 2009 Lotus Evora

looks kinda like a Tesla met the Esprit, with an Elise hood.

Thumbs up

It looks fantastic! I still cant see how 4 people can fit into such a slinky shape though. I cant wait to see interior shots.

Lookin' great!!!
A nice offering from Lotus to bridge the gap between the Elise line and the upcoming Esprit range-topper!

from the Autoblog article regarding the rear seats:
Quote:
While it's still not clear if the new Lotus will carry an Eagle badge at its debut, it will be packing an extra set of "Isofix" seats behind the front seat passengers that can accommodate children up to nine years old or cast members from the Cirque du Soleil. Thankfully, there will be an option to convert the rear seats into a storage compartment.

Looks kinda generic and boring to me but i' sure it will be a fantastic car to drive. Lotus cars always look better in flashy colors, not dull silver

Miles better than the Europa, which looks like a kit car. The way the bumper cut lines meet the headlights remind me of the Elan.

Looks impressive. Not as stunning as the elise and the espirit were in theie debut. But still worthy of the lotus badge provided they keep the weight down. I do see some Tesla roadster in the front headlamps, but that is understandable. The philosophy is 100% similar to the 1999 M250 concept. This one is a lot more refined than that concept. Its amazing though that its been that long. the 276hp 3.5l V6 is not too far off from the M250s 250hp 3L V6 lets hope this car keeps the less than 1000kg(2200lbs) part of the equation.

As for the europa, that thing should never have been built. It does not even come close to this.

Dumb question but where is the engine in this thing? And which cars does it compete with? the Porsche 911?

I believe its in front of the rear wheels. This looks more like a Porsche cayman competitor than anything else. Add a turbo to that V6 and we would be looking at some serious Cayman S rival.

I figured that had to be where, but it seems like it would leave little room for rear seats.
