Default MOT time

OK my scrappy car is due an MOT and after a wee bit of a check over I think it's possible to make it pass.... (the original plan was just to buy a new car).

Anybody know if a cracked headlamp lens equals a failure?

Also handbrake is fine, but the light comes on under hard acceleration and occasionally on hills, any ideas?

Many thanks

Nath

As long as the beam pattern is not affected, it should be OK.

I had a 405 that had a small hole in the lens and it always passed. I covered the hole up with sellotape to seal the headlamp, to stop the silver reflector corroding. It was like that for about 3 years before I got rid of it.

Sorry, I don't know what the problem with the handbrake light is.

Well booked for monday, have to wait and see. Is only a cheap banger but hoping gets through as had zero problems with it at all.
I've owned plenty of cars and the two most reliable have both been Rover K Series engined cars, with the terrible reputation.
Funny how it goes sometimes

Panic over, it passed.
A 400 banger is not supposed to fly through it's MOT without even an advisory
