I've never understood the move from 'shifter' to 'knob' - it's solving a problem that never really existed. Further....try rocking a car back and forth (going from drive to reverse) in a wintery condition using a knob vs. shifter...brutal.

I don't get it either. The shifter is automatistic and the knob isn't.

I'll second that. The rotary shifter was probably the only part I didn't like about my rental Fusion in the US; Like all those fancy sifters nowadays solving a problem that never existed, and adding annoyance to every parking maneuver

Oh, and the Focus Active is also cancelled for the US.

It's not like it would have been a great seller, so not a massive loss.

That article failed to mention that Ford has stated that, if the tariffs disappeared, it wouldn't bring the Focus Active over anyway.

Seems to me that Ford was just looking for a reason to kill it in the US. Stupid decision on Ford's part, IMHO, but....

All of Fords current NA offerings are trash. Seems like this will continue...

^^^^^^^^^^^^
ridiculous statement

Their current offerings are appropriate to the segments they are in. In some cases, arguably the best in their segment.
