Very nice! I like the black bowties. I recently leased an Impala 2LT...will need to post pictures once I've got some on my computer.

I decided the time has come to replace my 2011 Ford Fiesta. I'm starting test drives this weekend. Here are my three candidates.

Scion iA - "The Sensible Choice"
Pros - Lots of standard features, styling that should age well, great MPG, handy size, collision avoidance, low low price.
Cons - Potential NVH issues, low horsepower.

Honda Civic Sedan - "The All-Arounder"
Pros - Styling that strikes a good balance between classy and innovative, available sensing package, low-cowl driving position, exhaustively informative screens and gauges, high horsepower.
Cons -Largest of this group (important since I need to fit in small city parking spaces), also lowest fuel economy (but still not bad overall).

Toyota Prius - "The Extremist"
Pros - Controversial styling, once I "got" it everything else looked old. Airy interior with well laid out screens and controls. Hatchback versatility. Unbeatable MPG.
Cons - Controversial styling, I hated it at first, and may yet hate it again. Highest price, brake feel and noise issues from previous generation may not be worked out.

I welcome your thoughts and opinions.

Don't know your preferences or criteria but here are some notes I've taken on those...

I've driven the Scion iA twice and one of the high points that struck me was how smooth, quiet and refined it was. It rides very well on the freeway, better than some larger cars.
This is no Toyota product, dare I say it would be worthy to wear an Audi A1 badge.
Power is on the low side though [I drove the manual], but I don't think it's any worse than the Fiesta.

The new Civic has grown but is still plenty agile for city driving and the steering is really quick, like sports car quick without the light feel as in, say, the Corolla. It's rather expensive, though it seems like Honda did their homework this time and engineered a high quality product. Base engine has adequate power to get the job done but not much more.

Have yet to drive the new Prius, but appreciated how the previous one erased stress out of mundane commutes and stop/go traffic. Great everyday car, if you don't care for a mind numb driving experience.

I only got to drive the iA since most dealers were closed for Mothers day. I found it very much like my Fiesta at low speeds, right down to the stuttering automatic. At highway speeds it felt a lot better. The infotainment is not so intimidating once you get used to it.

They are very aggressive on pricing. MSRP is already low and the dealer promised a $1300 discount and $500 rebate.

I sure hope Toyota learns of the "Mazda feel" from the iA project and tries to bench mark it for the next Corolla. Or just slowly absorb Mazda and involve them in some decision making. And treat them well.

So I got the Civic. One drive and I was hooked. In addition to the best ride of any car I've owned, it really scoots. To my eyes it's the best looking sedan under $50K on the market. Mine also has the "sensing" package with adaptive cruise, collision warning and more. Out the door for under $20K. I decided to get while the getting was good.

Congratulations! Great price, and I hope you love your Honda as much as I love mine (a lot).

A friend bought one of these the other day for a family member. Just for fun I asked if it was a Hatchback, Sedan or Wagon. His delayed response : "I dont know". :) Honda intended to get the best of the first 2 bodystyles.

Enjoy your new car!
