The LC is gorgeous.

Lol, well someone call BMW and let them know that Levi isn't interested in this car, so they might as well throw in the towel altogether.

I think the proportions are terrible. The overhangs front and rear are way too much.

Vastly improved stance over the previous 6. If they don't muck up the headlights and tail lights, this will be great. What does concern me is the trunk lid which looks a bit tacked on--not as bad as the Bangle-era monstrosity--because that kind of look would ruin the tail.

I mean the i8 isn't really a "direct" competitor," but it's close in philosophy (mid engined, price). Haven't there also been reports on a gas-powered i8 also planned for later? My guess is that they blew their load on the i8 development (it's a very real futuristic halo car for them). Considering all the tech that went into the powertrain and chassis they might be laying low and rebuilding some cache with their focus on the lower spectrum with the Toyota-shared roadster.

BMW 8 Series
Well, I guess this explains why they just cancelled the 6-Series (for the U.S., at least). I suspect it'll be handsome, luxurious, and kind of boring.

If it has the same malaise-level styling that is hurting BMW then it will die. If it were to introduce a striking new and attractive styling direction, then it would have a chance. I'm betting on the former.

I still don't believe the rumors of killing off the 6 series in the US unless I've missed an official release. That car sells well for the niche it's in. There would be a huge pricing gap between an 8 series and 4 series in the coupe and convertible segment. the 4 door coupe 6 series, easily the best looking car in the BMW range, would be reason enough to keep the 6 series around. Plus Mercedes finally released a true E class coupe/convert that has no real rival from Audi, Lexus, Jaguar, etc.
