As stated, please provide a short paragraph as to why you nominated the cars you chose.
At the end of the nomination period (I'd imagine on the last day of '05), all qualified nominees (within reasons) will be tabluated and sorted. Voting will commence soon thereafter.

Did the F-350 come out this year? I could have sworn it was last year that it was updated.

The general rule for qualification: if it appeared as one of the nominees in a reputable ___ of the Year award, then most likely it qualifies here.
As for vehicles such as Mark LT, F-350 or any others that come up in question, it would be best to leave it up to the general body of CSS to decide their qualification status

Default Re: CSS's COTY, TOTY and SUVOTY nominees... (Superfresa)

The cars I would nominate and why are:
COTY:
-Dodge Charger - For being a pure American car and connection with the brand.
-S-Class- For being the top of the class, the display of technology for all the car industry to come
-Civic - Original Design, Brand not stuked to the image of the car and ready to revolution on the model
TOTY:
-?????I don't special like this class of vehicules (I am European...lol) but I like the Dodge Ram, not sure if it is of 2005....
SUVOTY:
- ML-Klass - When it came out back in 97 this gender of vehicule basicly didn't existed (at least in Europe) After him many fallowed. Today it is back on top

Surprise #2:
Car of the Year >30K:
Infiniti M35/45: A car that deserves a mention in every luxury category. This is a truly a sophisticated vehicle with not many drawbacks. Power, comfort, convenience, safety and styling all come together in nearly flawless fashion, making this truly beast on the outside and a beauty on the inside. And thousands less than competitors in price seal the deal.
Well, I was going to nominate the Sonata as the COTY <30K but since it qualified automatically, I will have to think hard for another one

ok, sonce the Jeep GC doesn't qualify, I give my vote to the Nissan XTerra because it starts at only $20K and has lots of power(265HP 4.0-V6) and good off-road abilities.

To answer the questions, ANY CAR THAT APPEARED ON 2005 will be admited.
The Jeep GC is a 2005 model but appeared in 2004 like Discovery 3 and was in the contest on last years SUVOTY.
The Lincoln LT was accepted. The ford F350 is still in question.
Knicks I probably couldn't agree more with your SUVOTY nomination.
Thanks to everyone for nominating and depending on how the thread goes, we may have a winner by new years...
VELSATIS: Please use more valid arguments than I like it... I still admit the nominations but a little explaining will be better. Remember this is not a personal taste thread, we are trying to be objective

In Australia, IMO, its been a pretty boring year in new car releases...But wordwide it gets better.
Ford Fusion - Its not only becasue i worship the ground Ford walk on, but the importance of this car is unbelievable. It is Fords first totally fresh product, and for the first time in ages, it is absolutly sweet! Sure, it lack in a few important areas, but its cheap, it looks hott, it goes well, steers and stops well and does almost anything you could want of a Midsize family car. Top stuff Ford
RangRover Sport - I love it, it just rocks my world! Sweet looks, great off road ability, good driving ability. It is a true modern LR, like the LR3. It mixes old wity new, and manages to do so with presision. True stuff...
