Default 2019 Renault Capture Coupe

https://www.carscoops.com/2018/06/re...et-bmw-x6-way/

Yes, the Capture, Renault's smallest CUV, is receiving a coupe version, and, by the shape of it, it will indeed be a budget X6/GLC Coupe.

Technically, this will be related to the next Clio, the upcoming regular Capture, and several Nissan models (Micra, Kicks,...), and share the new 1.3 petrol Turbo with the new A-Class Mercedes as the main stay in the engine lineup; We should see a near production ready concept soon, at the Moscow motor show (well I guess a major market for these fastback Utes) this August;

The rear end does seem to revive some Laguna coupe vibes, and if they manage to sell this at Capture plus a bit prices, this has success written all over it IMO:...

Looks good. I knew this would become a thing. People do not need SUVs/CUVs for practicality or off-roading. Just to sit a eye level and have more ground clearance suspension travel for bad roads.

Your question will only make sense if you define what a SUV is. I am not aware of any official SUV definition. I am not even sure SUV is right in first place, maybe you mean CUV? But that also needs an exact definition.

If you call this a raised sedan, SUVs are just raised wagons.

There isn't really a definition, but raised ride height/seating and some "tough looking trim" usually do the trick. Usually I'd say you succeed in making a CUV when your customers perceive it as one and thus are willing to pay more for the same technology..
