The wraps have been taken off of Touox's brand new Small-Family line, CYCLOID.
Cycloid is built off a new global modular platform called "Dynamic Multipurpose Utility" or DMU for short. These platforms underpin everything from segments A to D, and it makes vehicles using this chassis dynamically superior to their predecessors, whilst being lighter and more economical.
Common features of this platform
- Transverse layout engines, with front-wheel drive
- Engines ranging from 3-6 cylinders, petrol and diesel variants
- Electric ready
- Front MacPherson strut front suspension
- Multiple option rear suspension, torsion beam, multilink, solid rear axle
The Cycloid, and Cycloid Ontario is our newest B-segment entry, primarily focused at the value-end of the segment. Cycloid comes powered from engines as small as 800cc, and all the way up to 1.6L. Transmissions range from a slick-shifting six-speed manual, a traditional four-speed automatic, or a smooth CVT automatic.
Cycloid is ready to take on Versa, Punto, Corsa, Fiesta, and Accent!
In the US, power comes from a strong and economical 1.2L, GDI Turbo, making 118HP, and mated to a 6-speed manual, or a CVT automatic. (Base Cycloid and Cycloid Ontario V trim come with a 4-speed automatic as an option)
