Likely not the world's most eagerly awaited car, but hat won't stop us from seeing a ton of teasers and prototype test drive articles everywhere I guess;

German articles claim the Rapid sedan is dead, they are concentrating on the space back this time (whether this means dead altogether or just for Western markets is not specified);

I think a sedan version is as safe as night follows day. Maybe not for western Europe, but definitely for India and China.

It makes sense, but probably it will be more of a stand alone model than before (if it is still possible to call all those MQB products bespoke, given the amounts of components in and outside they share) to cater those tastes better;

Or, the sedan skips a generation, given that by developing market standards, the Rapid is still rather fresh (lets not forget, in China it replaced the Santana and Mk. II Jetta, both around for a healthy 30 years before retirement) and certainly is good for yet 1,2 or even more facelifts; The Golf Mk. IV platform still gets extensive use and even fresh models based of it in China (that Skoda Karoq lookalike);

So maybe the new Rapid really is more a "Euro only" product....
