A step back as far as I'm concerned, especially when it comes to the interior.

IMO a class leader, inside and out. not sure i like this car in matte finish though. would've chosen something else for reveal pics. Hopefully the new CLA will be close behind so I don't have to see the existing model anymore.

overall it's a "no" for me. I like the redesigned front and resurfaced sides, but the tail is heavier and the dashboard is wayyyy too blingy. IMO this is a distant third behind BMW and Audi.

well... exterior still (or again) looks slightly "sun-melted". and hopefully, this shrunken CLS front doesn't mean "one face for all" (though I fear it does)...
as for the interior... I like bold steps in new directions and this is really bold for german auto maker! and regardless of the controversies this "tablets" might cause I have to say that,, compared to previous interior, this one is in its layout simply better... by "a mile"!!

I'm seeing a lot of Mk V Golf in the profile, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Interior should be airer w/ the bigger windows and new dash style. I like the front end, the reduction in absurd side surfacing, but I just can't w/ those tailights. More stylish and more cohensive then the previous gen, but still very ugly, IMHO.

Overall, I think it seems greatly improved. Wonder what other engines will be introduced....

Those colour choices (matt grey and white) for promo shots are bizzare, it takes away from the 'bling' of how a Merc should be IMO. It's a decent design for a hatch but as others pointed out it doesn't really stand out as a premium or unique design. Interior is beautiful though, no faulting that and it will be the car's biggest selling point (along with the badge). Looking forward to seeing them in the metal to make up my mind.

I actually don't mind the colors of the semi gloss (I don't think MB does full matte). I think they're going for a stealth hot-hatch vibe. Not a bad idea, from a marketing perspective.
