...Evacuate the dance floor.

Seriously though, it just looks like an Astra convertible.

What came to my mind as well when I read the name ;-)

However, although it has not yet been officially anounced when or where it will be revealed, it will officially not be Paris, Opel says, as Paris is resereved for the other weird named kids in their lineup, the Adam and the Mokka.

ANd honestly I don't knowwhy some media claims it is not an Astra convertible, body is cleary shared with the Astra, and not with the Insignia. And if it had an all new platform, designing some non Astra sheet metal would be the least problem, especially considering the name of it's own...

I was going to say the bottom half will just be an Astra, but I just had a look and the line from the rear lights goes to the door handle on the 3 door Astra, here it goes above the door handle to towards the front of the door. So I'll just say the bottom half will be a lot like an Astra instead :p

I have to confess that i don't understand Opel's strategy here. Why make it so big? It doesn't look like it will be any bigger inside than the old Astra CC. On the other hand it will add a lot of weight. And we all know this will never EVER compete with the bigger cabrios on the market, i mean Volvos, Mercs etc. So...what's the point? Charge more on it? Make it less fuel efficient?

It was the same with the Insignia, they made it way bigger than they needed to. Astra? Same story. They both are overweighted pieces of under-engineering. Big outside, small inside, relatively tiny boot, fuel inneficient, weighty and with compromised handling. Opel has lost the plot on the engineering side of the business.
