The XTS should be the entry-level Cadillac instead of a 3 Series wannabe.

An XTS replacement at $37.5K called Seville could be a smart move. Then ditch the CTS and CT5 in favor of the CT6 becoming the Elmiraj for $45K. Make the Escala an EV at $60K.

I'm cautiously happy for Cadillac's future.

ATS has beaten the 3 Series at its own game: handling. If it failed is because customers are not interested in BMW handling, but in BMW badge.

XTS, FWD sedan? So a worse Lexus ES?

Supposedly so has the Jaguar XE, Alfa Romeo Giulia, C Class, and no doubt the Genesis G70 when the automotive journalists are wined and dined. The cliche at EVERY introduction of a 3 Series competitor is that is out-handles the 3 Series. Then a comparison test happens and the truth comes out.

It is well known that only journalists are interested in performance, not customers. Otherwise BMW would not go 'soft' and souped up Toyota (Lexus) would not sell as well and rival Germans. XE, ATS and Giulia put all R&D into handling, forgot about soft plastic, which most care today.
